Easy Piano Notator is built so that your sheet music stays yours. The short version: the app collects nothing about you, and the PDF you open is processed entirely inside your own browser. This page explains exactly what that means.

Your sheet music never leaves your device

When you open a PDF, it is read into your browser's memory, labeled, and offered back to you as a download. It is never uploaded to any server — there is no backend to upload it to. All of the processing (reading the score, detecting notes, writing the labels) happens locally using code and a WebAssembly engine that run on your machine. Aside from a privacy-friendly visit counter (see Analytics below), the only network requests the app makes are for its own static files (the page, scripts, icons, and fonts).

No accounts, no cookies, no ad tracking

Analytics

To understand whether this tool is useful and how many people visit, the site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first measurement tool. It is cookieless and does not use any client-side state or fingerprinting: it counts page views and referring sites in aggregate, and collects no personal data about you. It cannot see your files, cannot identify you, and does not track you across other websites. Because it stores nothing on your device, no cookie or consent banner is required.

Hosting

The site is served as static files by a web host and content delivery network. Like any website, the hosting provider may automatically process standard technical request information (such as your IP address, browser type, and the time of a request) to deliver the page and protect the service. This is handled by the host, is not something the app controls or has access to, and is not combined with anything you do inside the tool.

Offline use

Easy Piano Notator is a Progressive Web App. After your first visit, its files are cached on your device so it can run fully offline. When used offline, no network requests are made at all.

The music you process is yours

This tool does not claim any rights over the PDFs you open or the labeled files it produces. You are responsible for having the right to use the scores you load (for example, respecting the copyright of published or purchased sheet music). Because your files never leave your device, they are never seen by this app's author or anyone else.

Changes

If this app ever adds something that changes the picture above — for instance, error reporting or a different measurement tool — this page will be updated to describe it before or when that happens.
